The situation in Ukraine has worsened again due to massive russian attacks on energy infrastructure facilities.
The Ukrenergo national energy company announced this on its Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
As a result of the attacks that occurred on February 3, emergency power outages were applied in many regions; restoration work on the affected facilities is still ongoing, and the power outage schedules that were introduced earlier are currently not in effect.
"Over the past few days, russian troops have struck critically important facilities, in particular, in the Volyn and Ivano-Frankivsk Regions, which further complicates the stability of Ukraine's energy system. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that these attacks are part of the Kremlin's strategic plan to try to force Ukraine to surrender using energy terror," Ukrenergo experts stated.
At the same time, energy experts emphasize that, despite the negative consequences of the attacks, the Ukrainian air defense system continues to work on protecting critical facilities, and military experts report a violation of the aggressor's plans in implementing its strategy.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the night of Saturday, February 7, the aggressor country of russia carried out a massive missile and drone strike on Ukraine, targeting it mainly at energy facilities located in western Ukraine.
Hostile attacks on the night of February 4 caused new power outages for consumers in 5 regions: Sumy, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia.
