The Darnytsia combined heat and power (CHP) plant was critically damaged during the russian attack on February 3, and will take at least two months to restore. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced this on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"Experts examined the nature of the damage, in particular, the equipment of the critical infrastructure facility, which was one of the enemy's targets during the attack on the capital on February 3. We are talking about Darnytsia combined heat and power plant... Currently, the experts' conclusions are that the facility has been critically damaged and it will take at least two months to restore its systems and equipment, if there are no further devastating attacks by the enemy," he said.

Klitschko noted that this CHPP provided heat supply, in particular, to some buildings in Darnytskyi and Dniprovskyi Districts - more than 1,100 high-rise buildings, in these buildings on the morning of February 3, water was drained from the heating systems to avoid freezing.

The mayor provided a list of 1126 buildings that cannot be supplied with heat until the damaged Darnytsia CHPP is restored.

He noted that the city has deployed additional heating hubs in schools in the neighborhoods whose buildings were left without heat. There are currently 5 additional points connected to mobile boiler houses, where you can stay both day and night, in particular, in the Darnytskyi District, 4 in the Dniprovskyi District, in addition to those that worked there before. In addition, 36 additional heating points are being deployed by the SESU in Darnytsia and 27 points in the Dniprovskyi District.

Klitschko also noted that DTEK is organizing the most loyal electricity supply schedules for houses without heating in the Darnytskyi and Dniprovskyi Districts in the current situation.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on February 3, First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal said that work on the restoration of the Darnytsia CHPP in Kyiv will take a significant amount of time.
