Defense forces hit the Kapustin Yar training ground in the Astrakhan Oblast of the aggressor country russia. The attack was carried out, in particular, with Flamingo missiles. This is stated in a message by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"During January 2026, the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out a series of successful strikes on a complex of hangar-type buildings, where pre-launch training of intercontinental and medium-range ballistic missiles takes place, at the Kapustin Yar test site in the Astrakhan Oblast of the Russian Federation using long-range strike weapons of Ukrainian production, in particular FP-5 Flamingo," the General Staff said.
According to the information available to the military, some buildings on the territory of the training ground received damage of varying degrees, one of the hangars was significantly damaged, and some personnel were evacuated.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of January 31, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine struck several objects in the temporarily occupied territories and on the territory of the aggressor state.
