On Wednesday, February 4, 1,100 apartment buildings in Kyiv still remain without heat, and more than 200 crews are currently working to restore heat and electricity supply in the capital.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on his Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The head of state held a daily conference call on the emergency situation in the energy sector after the russian strikes.
He said that as of February 4, the situation is most difficult in Kyiv and the region, Kharkiv and the region, Sumy and Poltava Regions.
The situation is also difficult in the Dnipropetrovsk and Cherkasy Regions.
According to him, more than 200 crews are currently working in Kyiv alone.
"According to the report of the Ministry of Energy, the number of brigades will be increased to ensure the rotation of brigade workers - people are exhausted. More than 1,100 apartment buildings in several districts of the capital are without heating, and each such building must have a response with a clear deadline for restoring heat supply and guaranteed provision of people with heating and support options," the President said.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko previously reported that the massive attack on the capital on the night of February 3 led to critical damage to the facility that provides heat to the Darnytskyi and Dniprovskyi districts.
As a result, more than 1,100 houses were left without heating.
Due to the threat of pipes thawing, city services resorted to radical steps:
in these more than 1,100 houses, the water in the heating systems was drained to avoid thawing.
