Possible good news: Trump hints at progress on issue of peace in Ukraine

US President Donald Trump said that positive news may appear in the near future regarding the settlement of the war between Ukraine and russia. According to him, he had not previously made such public statements.

The American leader said this during a conversation with journalists at the White House.

"There are many different processes taking place now... I think the situation around Ukraine and russia is developing in the right direction. This is the first time I am talking about this. I think, perhaps, we will get good news," Trump said.

He also mentioned the scale of losses in the russian-Ukrainian war, emphasizing the number of deaths every month.

"We are losing about 25,000 people every month in this war. Twenty-five thousand. A month earlier it was 31,000. Look - these are young, beautiful children. Children who have parents," said the US President.

Separately, Trump again emphasized that, according to him, the United States is no longer spending its own money on the war in Ukraine, unlike during the presidency of Joe Biden.

According to the head of the White House, the financial burden now allegedly falls on European countries, which pay the United States for the supply of weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine within the framework of relevant cooperation programs.

"We do not spend money the way Biden did. He gave USD 350 million. And Europe... they are a little taken into account, but if you look at what is happening, it is the countries of Europe that are paying us," Trump added.
