Yulia Mendel, former press secretary (2019-2021) of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on her Facebook page that the former head of the Office of the President Andrii Yermak practices magic. Yermak's magicians, according to her, collect water from corpses and burn herbs.
Thus, Mendel recalled an incident that occurred back in 2019, when Yermak held the position of advisor to Zelenskyy.
"In 2019, a journalist came to the Office of the President for a briefing. After the briefing, he ran not after the President, but after his then-advisor Andrii Yermak with a question on camera: "What were you doing in the cemetery with NAME?" The journalist repeated this question several times, so I heard everything well. I heard such a question for the first time in my life, it remained ignored, and I never found the material," she wrote.
And in 2020, according to Mendel, one of the ministers came to her with information that Yermak, who was already working as the head of the President's Office at that time, was engaged in magic. Also, in 2023 and 2024, Mendel allegedly told how magicians were brought from other countries for Yermak, and what practices the magicians of the former head of the President's Office use.
"In 2020, a minister came to me with information that Yermak, then the head of the Office, was engaged in magic. The minister did not go into details, but he was very scared. In 2023, a person from an important service told me how Yermak brought magicians from Israel, Georgia and some Latin American country for magical rituals. In 2024, a person from the esoteric sphere told me that Yermak's magicians burn some herbs, collect water from corpses and make some dolls, which he puts in a certain chest. They say that in that special chest there are already the dead men themselves," she added.
In addition, Yulia Mendel stated that now Yermak's occupation with magic is being discussed publicly.
"Now law enforcement officers and even MPs (Yaroslav Zhelezniak) are talking about this publicly. I have never been familiar with the system of magic and have never been involved in rituals. And at first it was as hard to believe in it as it was in the existence of ghosts," the former press secretary wrote.
She also revealed how a European financier from a world organization told her about the king of an African country who consulted with tree spirits on state issues, and once did not allow a European investor to build a factory so as not to anger the spirit of a river. The same king also allegedly called the country's National Bank and indicated what inflation to enter in the reports and what GDP figures.
"The comparisons are obvious. Yermak could have worked with professionals in politics and economics, read books and developed the skills of a politician/official. Instead, he tried to block or use the energies of other people, as he imagined. I would not be surprised if most of the statistics were also distorted under his leadership, like the king with GDP and inflation. The parallels are the same here," she said.
As Mendel said, she understands that "in politics you can't win with brains alone, but you can't get anywhere without them either."
"Today, when the country is sitting without heat, light, and basic necessities, we can all only laugh at this magical "politics" if we have the strength to do so. However, I will say that in Ukrainian politics, Yermak is far from the only one who practices magical rituals.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Yulia Mendel previously called Andrii Yermak "a very dangerous person" and stated that "every day she thanks God that she is alive."
It was also reported that Andrii Yermak resumed his legal practice, as did former head of the Security Service of Ukraine Ivan Bakanov and former head of the President's Office Andrii Bohdan.
