Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said that the russian parliamentary corps is demanding to strike Ukraine with "retaliatory weapons starting next week," when weather forecasters predict temperatures will drop to -30°C.
A russian official wrote about this on Telegram.
"State Duma deputies insist on the use of more powerful weapons - 'weapons of retaliation'. And to achieve the goals of a special military operation (as the war against Ukraine is called in Russia - ed.)," Volodin said.
The representative of the aggressor country directly noted that due to the refusal of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to come to moscow, Ukrainians will face "new problems" "as early as next week."
The threats of the russian authorities are synchronized with weather forecasts: it is in early February that the coldest weather in Ukraine is expected to peak. According to weather forecasters, on February 1-3, the temperature in most regions will drop to -20...-27 degrees, and in some places - to -30°C.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Trump said earlier that at his "personal request" putin agreed not to shell Ukrainian cities for a week.
Such statements by a representative of the russian authorities demonstrate the intention to strike at Ukraine's life support systems when the lack of heating and electricity can lead to massive civilian deaths. In fact, Volodin has voiced a call for genocide, planning the destruction of infrastructure in a time when cold is becoming a deadly weapon.
