On Friday, January 30, a night missile strike damaged part of the Philip Morris Kharkiv factory in Ukraine. Rescue services are working at the scene, and the fire is being extinguished. The company's press service reported this to the Ukrainian News Agency.
According to preliminary information, there are no injuries. All on-duty personnel were in shelters.
The company reports that it is in constant contact with emergency services and is providing the necessary assistance. Philip Morris continues to fulfill its obligations to the state budget, partners and consumers.
"We are clarifying the circumstances and will provide additional information if necessary," the company's press service reported.
Recall that the Philip Morris Kharkiv factory in Ukraine has been suspended since February 24, 2022 - from the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
In 2024, Philip Morris Ukraine opened a new factory in the Lviv Region, investing USD 30 million in its launch. 250 employees from the Kharkiv factory were relocated to work at the new factory.
