The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) has granted Kyivstar, the largest mobile operator, permission to acquire the medicine search and booking service Tabletki.ua.
This is announced in a statement from the Antimonopoly Committee, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Permission has been granted to Kyivstar PJSC to acquire control over MTPK LLC," the decision of the AMCU meeting dated January 29 states.
MTPK LLC, which owns the Tabletki trademark and is the main legal entity of the service.
In 2024, the revenue of MTPK LLC, according to YouControl, amounted to UAH 715.4 million, which is 95.8% more than a year earlier.
The company's net profit for 2024 reached UAH 598.2 million.
It is noted that Kyivstar applied to the AMCU three times for approval of the deal.
However, according to Economic Pravda sources in the company, the AMCU refused approval due to different interpretations of the market share occupied by Tabletki.ua.
The Opendatabot service predicts that in 2025, the revenue of MTPK LLC may increase to UAH 1.65 billion, which is 131.22% more compared to 2024.
In February 2025, Forbes Ukraine estimated the potential value of the deal in the range of USD 30-80 million.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in early February 2025, Kyivstar intended to acquire the online drug booking service Tabletki.ua.
Tabletki.ua is a website and application where you can find and book medications at a specific pharmacy, and then buy them at a point of sale.
The service for 10 million users was built by the Muravshchyk family with partners.
Kyivstar has the largest mobile and fixed-line network in the country and serves about 24 million subscribers.
Kyivstar's digital services portfolio includes the Helsi digital medical platform with a registered user base of 28 million and the Kyivstar TV film and television platform.
VEON's largest shareholder is LetterOne Group, which was created by the founders of the russian Alfa Group Mikhail Fridman, German Khan and Alexei Kuzmichov.
In 2022, they left the Board of Directors after russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine and the imposition of sanctions against Fridman.
