On January 29, repatriation activities took place - 1000 bodies (remains) of the deceased, which, according to the russian side, belong to the Ukrainian military, were returned to Ukraine. It was reported by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
"Law enforcement investigators together with representatives of expert institutions of Ukraine will take all necessary measures aimed at identifying the repatriated victims," the statement said.
The repatriation measures were implemented as a result of joint work, in particular, of the Joint Center at the SSU, the Armed Forces, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Emergency Service and other structures of the Security and Defense Sector of Ukraine. The International Committee of the Red Cross also contributed to the return of the bodies.
