The report says that the new supervisory board consists of seven members.
The independent members of the Supervisory Board will be Rumina Velshi, Laura Garbenciute-Bakiene, Patrick Fragman, and Brice Bujon.
They are all respected international experts with many years of experience in nuclear energy, finance, risk management and legal regulation.
The Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine Vitalii Kindrativ, the Head of the State Agency for the Restoration and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine Serhii Sukhomlyn and the State Secretary of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine Maksym Malashkin were elected as representatives of the state.
Svyrydenko noted that the competition was held with the participation of independent representatives of the EU, EBRD, IFC and the Business Ombudsman in a full and open, competitive procedure, which is provided for all strategically important state-owned enterprises.
During the first meeting with the new members of the Supervisory Board of the Energoatom NNEGC, the Prime Minister set a task to urgently appoint new management of the company.
For the period necessary for the appointment, the Government instructed to replace the company's temporary management.
The new Supervisory Board must also conduct a full analysis of the company's previous activities: contracts, purchases, and auctions for the sale of electricity, taking into account information from law enforcement agencies, the media, and members of parliament.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on December 31, the Nomination Committee approved independent members of the new Supervisory Board of the Energoatom National Nuclear Energy Generating Company.
At the end of November, it was announced that a competitive selection for four positions of independent members of the Supervisory Board of the Energoatom National Nuclear Energy Generating Company was launched in accordance with the requirements for candidates and evaluation criteria approved by the Nomination Committee.
Earlier, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko stated that in order to restore confidence around Energoatom, it is necessary to hold a competition for the Supervisory Board not under a shortened, but under a full and open, competitive procedure, in accordance with OECD standards, provided for all strategic Ukrainian state-owned enterprises.
