130 generators have arrived in Kyiv from Poland, which were fundraised by caring Poles. These generators will strengthen the resilience of social institutions and critical infrastructure. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko has announced this.
"Kyiv has received 130 generators of various capacities from Poland, which will allow the city to strengthen the resilience of critical facilities and social institutions in the context of the energy crisis in Ukraine and the capital. The funds for these generators were raised by Polish volunteers. Within 10 days, 60,000 Poles donated PLN 80 million (almost EUR 2 million)," said Vitali Klitschko.
The mayor clarified that the capital received 108 FOGO F12000iSG generators with a capacity of 12 kW, 20 FOGO FV20000TE/TRE generators with a capacity of 20 kW, a 600 kW diesel generator FD 600 D and an 80 kW generator FD 80 B. The total capacity of the transferred equipment is 2,376 kW.
According to Klitschko, this is only the first batch of generators purchased with charity money.
"We are expecting the next one in the near future. Also, another aid from Warsaw is on the way - another 90 generators," he emphasized.
Vitali Klitschko thanked the organizers of the collection, volunteers and everyone who participated in it.
"Such support is an example of the unity of Ukrainians and Poles, effective interaction and humanity in this emergency situation. Let me remind you that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine has been receiving assistance from international partners. Poland has become one of the key ones. Thanks to the Poles, Ukrainians have received a lot of humanitarian aid. In particular, for energy supply. As well as medical equipment, food and other necessary resources," Klitschko said.
As reported earlier, after the devastating russian shelling of Kyiv's critical infrastructure, Mayor Vitali Klitschko appealed to foreign partners to help Kyiv.
