Russian occupants continue to remotely mine the Sumy Region, dropping explosive devices in light-colored bags from drones.
The head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration Oleh Hryhorov has announced this.
"The enemy continues to use remote mining tactics. The enemy is dropping explosive devices from drones in small light bags that can be triggered by pressing or approaching," the statement said.

Hryhorov urged residents to be especially careful when traveling on the roads, in particular near border settlements, as such mining has been recorded in the areas adjacent to the Sumy Region.
If you find suspicious objects, do not approach them - you must notify the police by calling 102.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, meanwhile, on the night of January 24, 2026, as a result of a massive russian missile and drone attack on Kyiv, the facilities of the National Reserve "Kyiv Pechersk Lavra" were damaged, which are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
