On the night of January 26, an attack by unidentified drones was reported in the russian city of Slavyansk-on-Kuban (Krasnodar Krai of the russian federation). Local residents report a series of explosions and air defense activity, and an oil refinery could have been hit.
It was reported by russian Telegram channels.
At around 1:30 a.m. Kyiv time, SHOT channel reported explosions and the sound of shooting in the city, noting that russian air defense was allegedly repelling a drone attack. According to eyewitnesses, they counted five to seven explosions after 1 a.m., and bright flashes were seen in the sky.
Not long before, there was information about the closure of the airport in Krasnodar for security reasons. Videos were also posted on social media showing explosions in the area of Slavyansk-on-Kuban. Monitoring communities speculate that the attack could have targeted a local oil refinery.
According to the operational headquarters of the Krasnodar Krai of the russian federation, the wreckage of the drones fell on the territory of two enterprises in Slavyansk-on-Kuban, which caused fires. It is not specified which enterprises are in question. Earlier, oil refineries in Slavyansk-on-Kuban were repeatedly attacked.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of December 14, drones attacked an oil depot in Uryupinsk, Volgograd Oblast of the russian federation, as well as, according to social media, refineries in Yaroslavl and Krasnodar Krai, and a hydroelectric power plant in the Smolensk Oblast.
