Kyiv continues to face a significant electricity shortage, with more than 800,000 customers without electricity. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal announced this on Sunday, January 25.
"There is still a significant electricity shortage in the capital. Emergency blackouts are in effect. More than 800,000 customers are without electricity in the capital, just like yesterday," the minister wrote.
According to him, work is also underway in the capital to restore heat supply to apartment buildings. For this purpose, today the city received two cogeneration units. Delivery of two more units is expected next week
It was also decided to send an additional 50 tons of diesel fuel to Kyiv from the Ministry of Energy's reserve. It is necessary for the operation of large generators connected to individual buildings or facilities.
Tomorrow, 17 repair teams from Chernihiv, Ternopil, Poltava and Vinnytsia will arrive in the capital. If necessary, the Ministry is ready to send 20 additional teams to the capital.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that as of the morning of Sunday, January 25, more than 1,300 homes were without heat. At least 340 buildings were connected to the heating system overnight.
As a reminder, yesterday, January 24, the aggressor country of the russian federation launched a massive attack on Kyiv. As a result of the attack, more than 6,000 houses were left without heating.
