The aftermath of the russian attack on Kyiv on January 24 led to repeated blackouts and heat cuts on a large scale. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko has said this on Telegram.

As a result of infrastructure damage, almost 6,000 high-rise buildings were left without heat supply.

The situation is particularly dramatic because most of these energy facilities have already been stabilized twice after previous shelling on January 9 and 20. For the third time in a month, specialists are forced to carry out emergency repair work at the same sites.

As of now, the utility has managed to restore heat to more than 1,600 buildings, but 1,676 high-rise buildings are still waiting for the service to be restored.

"Since last night, utilities and power engineers have restored heat supply to more than 1600 buildings. And they continue to work to return services to the homes of Kyiv residents," Klitschko emphasized, adding that the work will not stop until the network is fully restored.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, yesterday in Kyiv alone, more than 800,000 consumers were left without electricity due to emergency outages.

On the night of January 24, russian troops attacked Kyiv with drones and missiles. Damage and destruction were reported in five districts.
