US President Donald Trump expressed admiration for the resilience of the Ukrainian people, who are forced to live without heat due to constant russian shelling.
He said this during a conversation with media representatives, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The American leader emphasized the extremely difficult conditions in which Ukrainians found themselves.
According to Trump, he was impressed by how Ukrainians cope with life in the harsh winter period, when the air temperature drops to -20°C.
He also compared the Ukrainian climate with the Canadian one, noting that it can be even colder in Ukraine.
"It's very difficult, really difficult for people in Ukraine. The way they live without heat in such cold weather... I asked them: "How do you do it?". What they are capable of in order to survive is truly impressive. However, you can't live like this," the President emphasized.
Donald Trump added that the situation with the lack of basic conditions for heating homes is unacceptable, despite the incredible ability of Ukrainians to adapt to crisis conditions.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, large-scale work is underway in Kyiv to eliminate the consequences of enemy attacks on energy infrastructure, as of Friday morning, January 23, 1,940 high-rise buildings in the capital remain without heat supply.
As of Thursday morning, January 22, almost 3,000 high-rise buildings in the capital remain without heat supply.
