Klitschko again calls on Kyiv residents to leave city and stock up on food, water and medicine if possible

Due to the critical state of the energy system after the massive attacks by the russian federation, the mayor of the capital, Vitali Klitschko, appealed to residents to prepare for the worst-case scenarios.

The mayor wrote about this in his Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Klitschko emphasized that the threat of new attacks on critical infrastructure remains high, so the current state of affairs may only be the beginning of the tests.

"I appeal to residents and say honestly: the situation is extremely difficult, and this may not be the most difficult moment yet. Stock up on food, water, and necessary medicines. Those who still have options to leave the city, where there are alternative sources of power and heat, do not discard them," Vitali Klitschko wrote.

The mayor also called on employers to transfer employees to remote work or organize flexible schedules if possible.

In parallel, the city is preparing Invincibility Points for a long stay of people. According to Klitschko, they are equipping places for the night, installing mobile boiler rooms for heating, and providing food and hygiene supplies.

"Kyiv is preparing to respond to various scenarios of events," the mayor concluded, adding that energy and utility services are working in an intensified mode.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, large-scale work is underway in Kyiv to eliminate the consequences of enemy attacks on energy infrastructure; as of Thursday morning, January 22, almost 3,000 multi-storey buildings in the capital were left without heat supply.
