Ukraine has completed the creation of an internal windmill production cycle and can independently cover the country's domestic needs in this segment of equipment.
Deputy Head of the President's Office Viktor Mykyta announced this on Telegram, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
Mykyta also said that for the first time a Ukrainian company in Ukraine has manufactured a blade for a wind turbine: a 75-meter-long product of Friendly Wind Technology LLC weighing 25 tons has come off the assembly line and is ready for installation.
According to him, the latest equipment, the main matrix for the production of Gurit blades, modern materials and dozens of highly qualified specialists are involved in the production process.
"This event proved that Ukraine has completed the creation of a full-fledged domestic wind turbine production cycle and can independently cover the country's domestic needs in this segment of equipment. This is a step towards energy independence in the future," he said.
Mykyta called it a historic event for the Ukrainian machine-building industry. He noted that Transcarpathia confirms the status of a new center of innovation and high technology in the machine building industry of our country.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in August 2024, the first wind power plant (WPP) with a capacity of 80 MW was launched in Zakarpattia.
