Oleksii Brekht, a member of the Ukrenergo board, was electrocuted at a company substation. Oleksii Honcharenko, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the European Solidarity faction, reported this on his Telegram channel on Wednesday, January 21.
"The acting Chairman of the Board of NPC Ukrenergo Oleksii Brekht has died. The cause of death was an electric shock at a Ukrenergo substation," Honcharenko wrote.
Since June 2022, Brekht has been a member of the board of Ukrenergo, and on September 5, 2025, he was appointed acting chairman of the company's board after Zaichenko's resignation.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on January 21, Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko confirmed that a locksmith died during a house call in Kyiv.
