US President Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff said that on Thursday, January 22, he and Jared Kushner are planning to meet with russian dictator vladimir putin in moscow at the request of the russian side. Witkoff said this in an interview with Bloomberg on Wednesday, January 21.

Trump's special envoy believes that putin wants to conclude a peace deal with Ukraine. According to him, the peace plan is 90% ready. Witkoff also emphasized that he would travel to moscow at the invitation of the russians.

"Witkoff told Bloomberg TV that he and Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner will travel to Moscow tomorrow to meet with Putin and discuss a 20-point plan to end the war that he says is more than 90 percent complete," the report said.

According to Witkoff, everyone wants to reach a peace agreement. At the same time, Trump's special envoy refused to condemn russia's attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure, which has left Ukrainians without water, heating and electricity in the face of severe frosts.

"They are fighting, shooting at each other," Witkoff said.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on January 6, Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff said that "significant progress" had been made, in particular in the issues of bilateral security guarantees and a prosperity plan for Ukraine.

On January 21, the head of the President's Office, Kyrylo Budanov, said that peace in Ukraine will not come tomorrow, but there is progress in this direction and he felt cautiously optimistic about it.
