The Ministry of Economy is initiating permission for retail chains and catering establishments to allow animals to enter during low air temperatures. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Economy on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"Ukraine is preparing legislative changes that will allow retail chains and catering establishments to allow animals to enter their premises without legal risks. In particular, for the period of low air temperature," the statement said.
It is noted that today there is a legal conflict: there is no direct ban on visiting public places with animals, the rules are set by local authorities. In particular, in Kyiv, this is considered an administrative violation and is punishable by a fine. Free access is currently allowed only for guide dogs.
To eliminate this uncertainty, the government is initiating changes to regulations.
"We have already started discussions at the level of the government, local authorities and animal protection organizations. Our task is to clearly regulate the conditions of access for animals to shops and restaurants, including the issue of arranging special places for their stay," said Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture Taras Vysotskyi.
The Ministry of Economy emphasizes that the key principle is the freedom of business to determine the conditions for the admission of animals, establishments will independently establish clear and understandable rules for the stay of animals in the premises in accordance with their format and capabilities, without the risk of fines, legal conflicts and legal consequences.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, weather forecasters predict that severe frosts will continue in Ukraine in the near future, and no significant changes in the weather are expected in the near future.
