US President Donald Trump said that he is currently unable to end the war in Ukraine because of the lack of simultaneous readiness of the parties for peace. According to him, when one side is determined to end hostilities, the other is not ready for it at that moment.
Trump said this during a speech at the White House, which was broadcast on official channels.
He reiterated that he had allegedly ended eight wars in his political career, emphasizing that no president before him had managed to settle even one.
"I don't know. Think of it. I did eight. The reason I do it is because it's easy for me to do. And I didn't do it for a Nobel Prize. I did it because I'm saving a lot of lives. I'm trying to settle the final one," Trump said.
Speaking about the war between russia and Ukraine, the US president noted that he is trying to end this conflict as well, but is facing a constant change in the positions of the parties.
"I'm trying to settle the final one. I'm trying to do Russia Ukraine. And when Russia's ready, Ukraine's not. When Ukraine's ready, Russia's done. But they're losing 25,000 people a month on average. And I'm trying to get that one done," he summarized.
As a reminder, the list of countries whose leaders were invited by US President Donald Trump to join the Gaza Peace Council includes Ukraine.
