Two more cogeneration units will arrive in Kyiv from Germany next week, which will simultaneously produce electricity and heat. This was announced by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
"Kyiv has agreed with the German Society for International Cooperation GIZ (a German government agency that provides international technical assistance) on the transfer of two cogeneration units to Kyiv. The parties signed a Memorandum, according to which the units (mini-CHPPs) should arrive in the Ukrainian capital next week," Vitali Klitschko reported.
He noted that 5 such units have already been installed in Kyiv.
"Two of them are already operating, providing critical infrastructure facilities. Commissioning and adjustment work is being completed on three," the mayor informed.
Klitschko thanked the German partners for their help in a difficult time for Kyiv.

Earlier, energy experts noted that Kyiv is one of the best prepared cities for winter. And the scale of destruction is associated with the unprecedented intensity of shelling. Despite everything, no European country could have responded so effectively to the consequences of record shelling and restored heat supply so quickly as Kyiv did after the January 9 attack, said Oleksandr Kharchenko, director of the Energy Research Center.
