On December 31, the power generating company Ukrhydroenergo ordered liability insurance for senior officials - the CEO, chairman and members of the supervisory board - from PJSC Colonnade Ukraine Insurance Company for UAH 2.38 million.
This is announced by Nashi Hroshi with reference to data in the Prozorro system, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The annual insurance amount is UAH 126.03 million, the insurance rate is 1.89% of the insured amount.
The publication states that if the insured person needs defense expenses, they will be reimbursed within the aforementioned insurance amount. Expenses related to bail or preventive measures, preliminary investigation of the claim, circumstances or mitigation of the consequences of the damage caused, restrictions on the rights to assets or freedom, extradition proceedings will be reimbursed in the amount of 10% of the insurance amount amounts, but not more than UAH 500,000 for each individual insured event.
The territory of insurance coverage and jurisdiction covers the whole world, except for "the USA/Canada, the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk Regions and other territories not controlled by Ukraine".
The purchase was carried out without bidding, because the tender was previously canceled due to the absence of participants.
It is noted that the sole shareholder of the Kyiv insurance company "Colonnade Ukraine" is SCP Luxembourg SA RL from Luxembourg, and the ultimate beneficiary is Vivian Prem Vatsa from Canada.
According to the analytical system "YouControl", the winner is part of the corporate group "Fairfax Financial Holding". This is an international insurance group, which is represented on the Ukrainian market by this and other insurance companies: PrJSC "Universalna Insurance Company", TDV "ARKS Life Insurance Company", JSC "ARKS Insurance Company", which are included by the NBU in the non-banking financial group Fairfax.
Vivian Prem Vatsa is the Chairman and CEO of Fairfax Financial Holdings.
Since 2019, Colonnade Ukraine has received government contracts worth UAH 67.38 million.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on October 29, 2025, Energoatom, based on the results of a tender, ordered liability insurance for the chairman and members of the supervisory board from PJSC Colonnade Ukraine Insurance Company in the amount of UAH 19,301,833.00.
