Adverse weather in the waters of the Black and Azov Seas has significantly limited the russian federation's capabilities for missile attacks on Ukraine.
This was announced by the spokesman for the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Dmytro Pletenchuk, on the air of a telethon, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
Storms of force 3-4 have been going on for several days.
Despite the technical ability of modern ships to go to sea, launching missiles in such weather is extremely dangerous, so due to the high risks, the occupiers' command usually refrains from launches.
Pletenchuk noted that this "storm season" will traditionally last until mid-spring, creating obstacles for the enemy not only in the open sea, but also in ports.
In particular, due to the complex geography and specific navigation of the base in Novorossiysk, strong winds make maneuvering ships there particularly risky. At the same time, no warship of the russian Black Sea Fleet has been recorded in the bays of occupied Crimea.
The aggressor's aerial reconnaissance has also slowed down - due to bad weather, the intensity of aviation flights has dropped significantly.
Thus, natural conditions have become a temporary but effective barrier to enemy attacks in the south.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned of the threat of a new massive strike by russia and called on citizens to carefully respond to air alert signals in the coming days.
