25-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman died of hypothermia in Rivne Region

Over the past day, six people were hospitalized in the Rivne Region with diagnoses of "general hypothermia" and "frostbite." Two of them died in the hospital. This was reported by the State Emergency Service.

"Two cases occurred in the Koretskyi territorial community, a woman born in 1997 and a man born in 2000 died in the intensive care unit as a result of general hypothermia," the report says.

Two people were hospitalized in the Bereznivska community: a man with frostbite of the feet of the II-III degree and a woman with hypothermia complicated by pneumonia.

In the Ostroh community, a man born in 1945 with frostbite of the extremities was admitted to the intensive care unit.

In the Sarny district, in the village of Liubykovychi, a man was hospitalized in serious condition to the intensive care unit of the Dubrovytsia hospital.

"The main causes of injuries are prolonged exposure to the cold without proper warm clothing and neglect of the first signs of hypothermia and frostbite," rescuers say.
