A truce has been declared at the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant to allow for repairs. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported on its X-account on Sunday, January 18.

Repair works are currently underway at the Zaporizhzhia NPP due to the local ceasefire.

"Crucial repair works on the essential backup Ferosplavna-1 330 kV power line connecting Ukraine’s ZNPP to the grid have begun under another IAEA-brokered ceasefire, DG Rafael Grossi says. A Ukrainian team is conducting the repairs, with an IAEA team on the ground monitoring progress," the agency said in a statement.

Repair work is being carried out by Ukrainian specialists, while the IAEA team is monitoring the site.
