In Odesa, law enforcement officers exposed three employees of the district territorial center for recruitment and social support, as well as a member of a public organization, for extorting USD 6,000 during mobilization activities. This is stated in the report of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office on Friday, January 16.

On the evening of January 15, prosecutors together with the SSU exposed three employees of the district territorial center for recruitment and social support, as well as a member of a public organization.

"During the mobilization activities in the Kyivskyi District of Odesa, they illegally deprived a man of his liberty and put him on a bus. Using physical coercion, they drove him around the city for about an hour. In the course of this, they demanded from the "hostage" USD 6000 for not bringing him to the district territorial center for recruitment and social support," the statement said.

All those involved in the crime were detained. The issue of serving them a notice of suspicion and choosing a measure of restraint is being decided.
