The most difficult situation with gas supply is currently in the frontline regions of Ukraine. The most difficult situation is in Kherson, where energy facilities have been severely damaged due to russian shelling.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko reported this on her official Telegram channel.
She said she discussed with Naftogaz CEO Serhii Koretsky the provision of uninterrupted gas supply, especially in the frontline regions.
"We continue to coordinate the work of all components of the energy system in an emergency situation due to Russian shelling and severe frosts," the prime minister said.
According to her, 474 emergency crews of gas distribution networks are working in an enhanced mode across the country. In total, more than two thousand gas workers are involved in the work: direct repairs at facilities and round-the-clock calls from people.
After constant enemy attacks, they are doing everything possible to quickly restore gas supply to villages and towns near the front line, where repair crews often work under targeted attacks.
"Special attention is now being paid to the frontline Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Kherson and Dnipropetrovsk Regions. The situation is particularly difficult in Kherson, where enemy shelling has significantly destroyed energy facilities," Svyrydenko said.
She noted that Naftogaz has provided 1750 electric and gas heaters with gas cylinders to local residents, and is constantly bringing in additional equipment.
"We also discussed the situation with the import of additional volumes of gas. Thanks to the UAH 8 billion allocated from the state budget and the assistance of international partners, the Government, together with Naftogaz, ensured the import of 5.7 billion cubic meters in 2025 for a stable heating season," the Prime Minister said.
According to her, this made it possible to replace the volumes of domestic production lost due to massive missile strikes.
"We have defined clear parameters of imports for the next period in order to get through the unprecedentedly difficult heating season this winter," Svyrydenko added.
