The 112 line is working in the mode of receiving messages about the absence of heat, water and electricity supply in order to promptly receive information about the critical situation in citizens' homes not only from emergency services. The Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko announced this on his Telegram channel on Thursday, January 15.
Klymenko noted that additional operators have been engaged in the work of the service to promptly process calls to rescuers, police, medical care or gas service, as well as receive information from citizens themselves about the critical situation in their homes.
"The operators will immediately transmit this data to the headquarters for the elimination of the consequences of Russian shelling of energy facilities in Kyiv and the emergency response committee to quickly organize assistance to people in the current difficult conditions. Operators will provide information about the nearest point of indestructibility or heating places. And if necessary, they will direct emergency crews," the Interior Minister emphasized.
In addition, 112 can be called in the absence of mobile communication. To do this, you need to connect to a WI-Fi network (available at Points of Invincibility, shopping centers, medical facilities, etc.), download the 112 Ukraine app and log in. You can also install the app in advance.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on December 18, 2025, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko said that the Ministry of Internal Affairs had developed an official emergency service that can work even without mobile communication.
On September 7, 2022, the Verkhovna Rada envisaged the creation of a single emergency call center at 112.
In September 2023, the telephone service of a single emergency number 112 was fully launched in the Kyiv Region.
