The National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) are conducting searches in the office of the Batkivshchyna party.
This was announced by Ukrainska Pravda with reference to its own sources on January 13, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
It is noted that the investigative actions are related to the exposure of the head of this faction in an attempt to bribe colleagues in parliament.
According to official information from the NABU and SAPO, the head of the faction offered an illegal benefit to a number of MPs from other political forces. The money was intended for a "correct" vote - support or failure of specific bills in the session hall.
Preliminary qualification of the case - Part 4 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (offering an illegal benefit to an official occupying a particularly responsible position).
Currently, investigative actions are ongoing in the party office, and law enforcement officers are collecting evidence of direct influence on the results of the votes in the Verkhovna Rada.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, NABU and SAPO have exposed the head of one of the parliamentary factions of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for offering illegal benefits to a number of MPs for the necessary votes in parliament.
