The issue of the aggressor country russia's strikes on Ukraine's energy sector and its disregard for the United States' peace efforts will be discussed at a meeting of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) on Wednesday, January 15.

Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced this on his X-account on Tuesday, January 13.

Sybiha noted that the pressure on russia will not stop as long as the aggressor continues its war against Ukraine.

"After a series of emergency meetings, including those of the UNSC and NATO, this Thursday, on January 15th, at Ukraine’s demand Russian strikes and disregard for US-led peace efforts will be addressed by the OSCE. The timing of the extraordinary debate is meant to align with the inaugural OSCE Permanent Council meeting in 2026 and presentation of the Chairpersonship’s priorities by my friend Ignazio Cassis, clearly showing that a lasting peace for Ukraine tops this Organization’s and OSCE agenda," the Foreign Minister wrote.

Sybiha also called on all OSCE participating states to confront the threat and magnitude of the challenge that russia's aggression poses to the very concepts of sovereignty, territorial integrity, freedom and human life.
