The company of the main shareholder of Kernel Andrii Verevskyi submitted a request to the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine to buy the Agro-Region group of companies, as evidenced by the draft agenda of the AMCU meeting on January 8, and received permission during the meeting.
Latifundist.com publication writes about this, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
The publication says that the company, owned by Andrii Verevskyi, filed nine applications to the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine for permission to acquire Agro-Region companies, which are partially owned by Aivaras Abromavičius (more than 53.6%), the former Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine (2014-2016) and the head of Ukroboronprom from September 1, 2019 to October 6, 2020, as well as Lars Peter Elam Håkansson (44.28%).
The relevant applications are dated November 24, 2025.
"The AMCU, by its decision of January 8, granted permission to KAPENATA LIMITED to acquire direct control over 9 companies of Agro-Region by direct acquisition of a share in the amount that ensures exceeding 50 percent of the votes in the company's higher body," the AMCU said in a statement.
The applicant plans to gain direct control over the following companies of Agro-Region: "Harna Logistics", "AR Ivky", "AR Chudniv", "AR Khmelnytskyi", "AR Boryspil", "AR Kozelets", "AR Liubar", "AR Borzna" and "Bilyi Tsvit".
In each case, it is a direct acquisition of a share that ensures control over the enterprise.
According to YouControl, the main beneficiaries of Agro-Region through HARNA STOCKHOLM HOLDING AB are Aivaras Abromavičius (more than 53.6%) and Lars Peter Elam Håkansson (44.28%).
According to the publication, their sources said that this is the second attempt by Kernel to acquire Agro-Region during the full-scale invasion.
During the first round of negotiations, the parties failed to reach an agreement on the price.
According to Latifundist.com's sources, the deal involves the purchase of the entire company, including corporate rights, land bank, machinery and elevator capacities.
Taking into account the geography of the assets and the quality of the land, the land intermediaries interviewed by Latifundist.com estimate the approximate range of the deal at USD 100-110 million (including corporate rights, fixed assets, elevators).
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in late April 2025, Verevskyi indirectly bought the Richert plant in Podil, Kyiv.
