US President Donald Trump has said that both sides of the conflict are finally ready to sign a peace agreement. He said this in an interview with The New York Times.

Trump emphasized that his involvement was key to achieving progress, as russia initially aimed to completely take over Ukraine.

Despite the fact that the timeline for ending the war has been repeatedly postponed, Trump expressed optimism about his conversation with the russian leader.

"I feel strongly they wouldn’t reinvade, or I wouldn’t agree to it. I feel strongly that they would not reinvade," the US president emphasized.

Trump also noted that earlier he was surprised by the parties' refusal to compromise, but now the situation has changed

"I think now they both want to make a deal, but we’ll find out," he summarized.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, media reported that US President Donald Trump is increasingly disappointed with russian dictator vladimir putin, who realizes that he is the main obstacle to peace, not Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Axios also learned that the US side met with russian envoy Kirill Dmitriev in Paris on January 7 to discuss a peace plan. Against this backdrop, there is a possibility that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will meet with US President Donald Trump to agree on a security guarantee agreement - there are two ways this could happen.
