At night, russian occupants attacked the energy infrastructure of several regions. As a result of this and due to the fighting in the frontline regions, power outages were recorded in the Odesa, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipro and Donetsk Regions this morning. It was reported by Ukrenergo.
Emergency repair works have already begun wherever the security situation allows.
"Due to the difficult situation in the power system caused by Russian shelling, emergency blackouts were introduced in several regions this morning. The previously published schedules of hourly blackouts in these regions are not in effect," the statement said.
The consequences of bad weather
Difficult weather conditions (ice, heavy snowfall) caused full or partial power outages in 260 settlements in the Kyiv, Zakarpattia, Chernihiv and Dnipropetrovsk Regions in the morning. Emergency repair work on the lines is being carried out by the repair crews of the regional power companies.
Earlier, the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration said that road closures in Kyiv region and traffic blocking would not speed up the restoration of electricity.
