Russian Shahed attacks railway workers, there are injured - Ukrzaliznytsia head

The locomotive crew was hit by a russian Shahed. This was reported by the chairman of the board of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia Oleksandr Pertsovskyi on Facebook.

"Unfortunately, we have injured (fragment wounds) the driver and assistant driver of the freight locomotive. The Shahed hit next to the locomotive. The monitoring duty officer was notified of the threat, the crew is great - they managed to safely secure the locomotive, but, unfortunately, they did not evacuate - they just lay down," he wrote.

The doctors removed the debris, applied stitches, the condition of both guys is stable.

"Other colleagues-locomotives are waiting nearby in the hospital. All assistance is provided. We will decide with the doctors how there will be an opportunity for further transportation and rehabilitation," said the chairman of the board.

Also, due to the power outage at night, Ukrzaliznytsia switched to thermal traction and generators. As of now, voltage has already been applied to the contact network on the main sections, and diesel locomotives are partially continuing to operate.

"And a number of smaller failures in the railway infrastructure - we are promptly eliminating them without affecting traffic," Pertsovskyi added.
