During the current week, the aggressor country of russia launched almost 1,100 strike drones, over 890 guided aerial bombs and more than 50 missiles of various types on the territory of Ukraine. This was reported by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his Telegram channel.
According to the President, a difficult situation currently persists in many regions after russian strikes on critical infrastructure. He noted that energy workers and repair crews are working around the clock to restore electricity, heat and water supply to people.
"And this is truly a titanic work, which is very important for our people - to restore normal life after constant terrorist russian strikes. I am grateful to everyone involved. This week, russia launched almost 1,100 strike drones, more than 890 guided aerial bombs and more than 50 missiles of various types against Ukraine: ballistic, cruise, and there was also the medium-range ballistic Oreshnik. And against targets that have no military meaning: energy, residential buildings. This is deliberate, cynical russian terror against people," he added.
Zelenskyy stressed that the russians were specifically waiting for frosty weather to make things worse for Ukrainians.
"I thank our mobile fire groups, who every night, who every day protect Ukraine from these attacks, to all our other soldiers of air defense units, electronic warfare units. I thank each and every one who works for Ukraine. Right now, internal stability and work to strengthen our defense are especially important. We need stable support for Ukraine, our defense, coordinated diplomacy for the sake of peace. I thank all partners who work together with us in this way," Zelenskyy wrote.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the night of January 10, russian troops attacked Ukraine with an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 121 drones. The defenders managed to neutralize 94 enemy UAVs.
