The United States Armed Forces, together with allied forces, carried out "large-scale strikes" on several ISIS targets in Syria. This was reported by the US Central Command (CENTCOM) on the social network X.
It is reported that the strikes on ISIS positions were carried out on the afternoon of January 10.
It is noted that these strikes are part of Operation "Hawkeye Strike", which was announced and launched on December 19, 2025 at the direction of US President Donald Trump in response to the deadly ISIS attack on American and Syrian forces in Palmyra on December 13, 2025. According to the military, this ambush, carried out by an ISIS terrorist, led to the tragic death of two American soldiers and one civilian translator from the United States.
"The strikes on January 10 targeted ISIS throughout Syria as part of our ongoing commitment to eradicate Islamic terrorism against our military, deter future attacks, and protect American and partner forces in the region. U.S. and coalition forces remain committed to pursuing terrorists who seek to harm the United States," CENTCOM said in a statement.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the United States launched a military operation against the ISIS terrorist group after militants attacked American citizens in the city of Palmyra.
