The President of the United States of America Donald Trump said that Venezuela has begun a large-scale process of releasing political prisoners. He stated this on his social network Truth Social.
"Venezuela has begun the process of releasing its political prisoners on a large scale. Thank you! I hope these prisoners will remember how lucky they are that the United States intervened and did what needed to be done," Trump wrote.
According to him, he hopes that those released "will never forget it."
"If they forget, it will be bad for them. Thank you for your attention to this issue," summed up the US leader.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on January 3, the US conducted a military operation in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela. The US army used planes, helicopters and Tomahawk cruise missiles. As Trump later stated, the US military captured President Maduro and took him out of the country. The Venezuelan leader's wife was captured with him.
In court on January 5, the captured Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores had noticeable head injuries. Representatives of the Donald Trump administration told lawmakers that they received them from hitting their heads while fleeing from American troops who were trying to arrest them.
ABC News reported, citing sources, that US President Donald Trump demanded that the current head of Venezuela, Delcy Rodriguez, abandon economic ties with China, Iran, Cuba and russia.
According to him, the export of Venezuelan oil will be carried out by the US government. Initially, oil in reserves will be sold. This is about 50 million barrels of oil under sanctions.
At the same time, the United States of America intends to lift the naval blockade of Venezuela, but after that Washington will take control of Venezuelan oil exports.
