Russia or China will occupy Greenland if the US does not control the island.
This was stated by US President Donald Trump during a meeting at the White House with oil company executives.
"We will not allow russia or China to occupy Greenland. That is what they will do if we do not. So we are going to do something about Greenland, either the easy way or the hard way," the White House head stressed.
Trump again threatened to establish control over Greenland, regardless of Denmark's position.
"We are going to do something about Greenland, whether they like it or not," the US President said.
He added that he is a "fan" of Denmark and "they have been very good to me."
"But you know, the fact that their boat landed there 500 years ago does not mean that they own this land," Trump said.
