Ukraine has warned Poland about the possible launch of the Oreshnik ballistic missile by the aggressor country russia, which is why the Operational Command of the Armed Forces has put ground-based air defense systems on alert. It was reported by the Polish edition of RMF 24 on Friday, January 9.

The publication noted that the russian occupiers used the Oreshnik for the second time to attack Ukraine. At the same time, Ukraine warned Poland in advance about the likelihood of such a strike. As a result, the strike took place just a few tens of kilometers from the Polish border.

"First, the Ukrainians warned us about the threat of these medium-range ballistic missiles. Before that, during the Russian attack, Kyiv also provided us with information about this facility. Secondly, the facility was also monitored by Polish airspace monitoring systems," the article says.

The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces has put ground-based air defense systems on alert, including one of the Polish Patriot batteries, as well as several Dutch systems located near Rzeszow.
