Air defense forces neutralized 244 enemy air targets overnight - 18 missiles and 226 UAVs, 19 locations were hit.
On the night of Friday, January 9, russian troops launched 278 air attack means at the territory of Ukraine - 36 missiles and 242 UAVs of various types, air defense forces managed to neutralize 244 air targets: 18 missiles and 226 UAVs.
The press service of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
It is noted that on the night of January 9 (from 7:30 p.m. on January 8), the enemy launched a combined strike on critical infrastructure facilities in Ukraine using strike UAVs, sea- and land-based missiles.
The main direction of the attack was the Kyiv Region.
In total, the Air Forces' radio engineering troops detected and escorted 278 air attack means - 36 missiles and 242 UAVs of various types:
- 242 attack UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera type (other types of drones) from the areas of Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk - russia, Chauda, Hvardiiske - TOT of Crimea, Donetsk (about 150 of them were Shaheds);
- 13 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles (launch areas - the Bryansk Oblast - russia);
- 22 Kalibr cruise missiles (from the Black Sea);
- 1 medium-range ballistic missile (from the Kapustin Yar test site, Astrakhan Oblast - russian federation).
"According to preliminary data, as of 9 a.m., air defense shot down/suppressed 244 air targets:
- 226 enemy UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera types (other types of drones);
- 8 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles;
- 10 Kalibr cruise missiles," the statement said.
18 missiles and 16 strike UAVs were recorded at 19 locations.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of Thursday, January 8, 97 attack drones were launched on the territory of Ukraine, and the air defense forces managed to neutralize 70 of them.
Meanwhile, Kyiv suffered a massive russian missile and drone attack at night, there are 4 killed and dozens of wounded.
