The Cabinet of Ministers has banned the disconnection of power supply to healthcare facilities, and controlling authorities will immediately check information about violations of the decision in Lviv. Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko announced this on her Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"The Ukrainian government has explicitly banned the shutdown of healthcare facilities during the application of power supply restriction schedules. This is enshrined in the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers on measures to ensure the supply of electricity during the autumn-winter period of 2025/26," she said.
Svyrydenko noted that responsible executors, in particular local authorities, are obliged to ensure unconditional compliance with the relevant government decision.
"The controlling authorities, including the State Inspectorate for Energy Supervision, will immediately check the facts of possible violations of the government's decision, in particular in Lviv. People's health and lives are not a reason for manipulations and loud headlines," the Prime Minister emphasized.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Lviv Mayor Andrii Sadovyi said that Lviv is facing a critical situation with energy supply due to a change in the government's approach to the list of critical infrastructure facilities. In particular, according to him, since last night, a part of medical institutions in the city has been disconnected from electricity and the municipal electric transport has been completely stopped.
In late December, Svyrydenko said that the government had instructed all responsible authorities to ensure the unconditional implementation of the decision to redirect up to 1 GW of the released energy resource, resulting from the revision of the list of critical infrastructure facilities, for the needs of the population. According to her, this is one of the steps that will help balance the power system and reduce the number of power outages for people.
