Ukrainians' investments in domestic government bonds up 43% to UAH 112 billion in 2025

Ukrainians' investments in domestic government bonds increased by 43% to UAH 112 billion in 2025 compared to the previous period.

This is evidenced by data from the Ministry of Finance, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Last year, about UAH 570 billion was raised for the state budget at auctions for the placement of domestic government bonds.

Last year, the Ministry of Finance held 184 auctions for the placement of domestic government bonds.

The portfolio of domestic government bonds owned by individuals grew from UAH 78.5 billion to UAH 111.9 billion, or by UAH 33.4 billion (+42.6%), and their share in the total portfolio increased from 4.2% to 5.7%.

Business investments also increased - from UAH 178.2 billion to UAH 212.3 billion, and their share in the total portfolio of government bonds increased from 9.6% to 10.8%.

The main owners of government bonds throughout the year remained commercial banks and the National Bank of Ukraine.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion through internal state borrowing, about UAH 2 trillion have been attracted.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, government bond placement auctions are held every Tuesday. The face value of one bond is UAH 1,000, USD 1,000, or EUR 1,000.
