In Kharkiv Region, UAV attacked repair team, in Donetsk Region there was hit on an energy facility

As a result of another attack by the russian federation on the night of January 5, hits were recorded on energy facilities in several regions of Ukraine. This was reported by Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Oleksandr Vyazovchenko during a briefing.

Russian troops continue the systematic terror of Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Over the past week, more than a hundred network damages have been recorded, of which 20 were targeted strikes on critical facilities.

Currently, the most difficult situation is observed in Slavutych - the city was completely left without electricity as a result of an enemy attack. Generation in the Donetsk Region and a repair team in Kharkiv region also came under fire. During emergency and restoration work, a team of JSC Kharkivoblenergo came under attack by an enemy drone. According to the official, there were no casualties.

Due to the power shortage in the country, blackout schedules and electricity imports are in effect. The situation in the frontline zones remains critical: constant shelling prevents specialists from completing restoration work.

Over the past week, Ukraine's power system has suffered more than 100 damages due to hostilities. The Ministry of Energy notes that every fifth attack (about 20 cases in total) was specifically aimed at energy facilities. Despite the difficult situation, energy workers manage to maintain control over the system.

The most difficult situation remains in the frontline areas, where repairs are impossible due to continuous fire. To avoid collapse, Ukraine is attracting electricity from abroad and introducing blackout schedules for the population and industry.

As a reminder, on the night of January 5, russian occupiers struck energy facilities in the Kyiv Region.
