President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that new heads of five regions - Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Poltava, Ternopil and Chernivtsi - will be appointed in the near future. This is stated in a message on the Facebook account of the head of state on Sunday, January 4.
Zelenskyy noted that he had held interviews with candidates for the positions of heads of regional administrations.
"We had thorough conversations. I am grateful to everyone who is ready to take responsibility for the situation in the region and serve our country and people. Appointments will be made in the near future: Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Poltava, Ternopil and Chernivtsi Regions," the President emphasized.
According to him, the names of the new heads will become known after all formal procedures for the preparation of appointments are completed. The key for the new leaders should be to strengthen local self-government, community resilience and the ability of the regions to protect communities.
