Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez is in russia.

It was reported by four Reuters sources at once.

According to them, her brother, the head of the National Assembly (parliament) Jorge Rodríguez, remains in Caracas.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on January 3, the United States conducted an operation in Venezuela: they struck at military targets and captured President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores.

After that, Rodríguez made an audio address on state television, calling on Washington to provide evidence that they were alive.

The fact that Venezuela's vice president is in moscow was also reported by the Spanish media.

The russian Foreign Ministry denies this disclaimer. At the same time, the ministry spoke about a telephone conversation between Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Rodríguez. The Minister expressed support for Maduro's government.

According to the Venezuelan Constitution, power is transferred to the vice president if the head of state is unable to fulfill his duties. Caracas has not made any official statements about Rodríguez's whereabouts.

US President Donald Trump earlier said that after the capture, Maduro and his wife were taken to the United States. There they were charged with "narco-terrorism" and weapons possession. US Attorney General Pam Bondi said that the couple would soon be brought before an American court.

Meanwhile, the leader of the Venezuelan opposition, Nobel Peace Prize winner María Corina Machado, has declared her readiness to take over the country. She said that Maduro was removed from office after refusing to negotiate. Trump, when asked if he would support Machado, said that it had to be considered since Venezuela has a vice president.
