Lieutenant General Vasyl Maliuk may be dismissed from the post of the head of the SSU, but this resignation will negatively affect the country's defense capability.
TSN.ua has reported this, citing sources in government circles.
"There are indeed attempts to remove Vasyl Maliuk from office. But nothing has been decided yet, we are discussing it," the source said.
According to the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, the decision to dismiss the SSU head will raise many questions, because under the leadership of Vasyl Maliuk, the Ukrainian special service has become truly effective, as evidenced by the results of its work.
In fact, no other law enforcement agency has achieved the same results as the SSU: Operation Spiderweb, three explosions of the Crimea bridge, attacks on oil refineries and the russian shadow fleet, liquidation of Ukraine's enemies, and powerful results at the front.
"Such unique special operations give Ukraine strong "cards" at the negotiating table," the source emphasized.
The source of TSN.ua believes that the kremlin will pop the champagne if Maliuk is dismissed.
"The dismissal of Maliuk is not just a weakening of the President's team. This is an undermining of the country's defense capabilities in times of war," the source said.
