On Saturday morning, explosions were heard in the Venezuelan capital Caracas and "at least one plume of smoke" was seen.

According to the media, the southern part of the city, where a large military base is located, remained without electricity.
CNN reports several explosions. There was no electricity in several areas of the city, and media journalists could hear the sound of airplanes after the explosions.
Social media report that the United States has attacked the Venezuelan capital, and American helicopters are flying over the city. There is currently no confirmation of this information.
The publication recalls that US President Donald Trump has repeatedly promised ground operations in Venezuela as part of efforts to pressure President Nicolás Maduro to leave office, including by expanding sanctions, increasing the US military presence in the region and carrying out more than two dozen strikes on ships allegedly involved in drug trafficking in the Pacific and Caribbean.
